What We Do
The James B. Sanderlin Neighborhood Family Center supports children, families, and residents in South St Petersburg through programs focused on education, employment, family support, wellness, and enrichment.
Who We Serve
We serve families and individuals in South St. Petersburg. Our programs are designed to reduce barriers and strengthen stability, learning, and opportunities for those we support.
Our Results
During the 24-25 Fiscal Year, we served:
- 121 youth through after-school programming, spring, and summer camp
- 713 in our food pantry equaling 2,223 food service interactions
- 500 individuals and families seeking immediate assistance
- 35 families who achieved self-sufficiency goals
- 30 community partner organizations hosted on-site
- 588 volunteer hours contributed

Stories of Impact
“The James B. Sanderlin Family Center has truly been a blessing to my family. Five years ago, my children joined the afterschool program and received math tutoring, enrichment activities, and support that helped them grow academically and socially. I was also given opportunities to attend credit building and home buying classes and connect with community partners along the way.
From field trips to Zoo Tampa to a once-in-a-lifetime trip to the New York Stock Exchange, the experiences have been incredible. Add in the food pantry and hot meals from the 360 Eats food truck, and it truly is a one-stop shop for our family.
It takes a village to raise a family, and I’m grateful Sanderlin is part of ours.”

How has your experience at the Sandelin Center been?
It’s been good, I’ve been able to grow in basketball and academics. It’s a good environment to be in, its smaller and safe. You have good mentors at Sanderlin and everyone there is nice. I don’t want to leave; I want to stay!
